Over the past several months, the Texas Democratic Party has begun investing more seriously in rural infrastructure, strengthening county parties, supporting organizers, and recognizing that rural communities must be part of the statewide strategy. We are not all the way there yet, but progress is happening. And that matters.

Rural Texans deserve representation that reflects our values. Self-reliance. Community. Accountability. Fairness. Trust. A belief that every part of Texas matters, not just the most populated or politically convenient.  

In every corner of rural Texas, there are people who wake up every day wanting nothing more than to make their communities stronger — neighbors who love their towns, who show up when someone needs help, who believe that local leadership should come from those who understand the heartbeat of their county.
