A Good Problem to Have

As many of you know, we have been providing reimbursement grants for 100% of the filing fee for rural Democrats to get on the primary ballot as a county level candidate. We never imagined so many would take us up on our offer. So far we have approved $12,000 in grants for 13 candidates all over the state, from Justice of the Peace, to Treasurer to County Commissioner and County Judge.

So far awards have been approved for the following:

Stephanie Baird - Justice of the Peace, Brazoria County

David Martinez - County Commissioner, Potter County

Marianne Miller - County Commissioner, Bell County

Marycruz Serrano - Tax Assessor, Erath County

Pollyanna Thibodeau -County Commissioner, Hill County

Terris Goodwin - County Commissioner, Bell County

Brandy L. Byrd - Tax Assessor - Bell County

Michelle Cummings - County Attorney, Bell County

Idella Thomas - Jackson - Constable, Potter County

Gregory Johnson - Justice of the Peace, Bell County

Joy Morris Pardo - Tax Assessor, Caldwell County

Julie Plemons Sanders - County Commissioner, Comal County

Taylor Mowrey Burge - County Commissioner, Caldwell County

All of these are in counties where there is no elected Democrat and there has been no Democrat on the ballot in years. We have been so successful we have run out of money to approve anymore filing fee grants, at least until we replenish our coffers.

This is a fantastic problem to have!

We are not closing the grant application because we have faith that the Lord will provide as they say. If you are planning to run for a local county office, or are thinking about it, please submit your application as you had planned. As soon as we have received sufficient donations to fund those grants we will fill them. We will do our best to make sure everyone who wants to run can be helped.

If you believe in what we are doing, we hope you will help. You can donate online by clicking the button below.
