In every corner of rural Texas, there are people who wake up every day wanting nothing more than to make their communities stronger — neighbors who love their towns, who show up when someone needs help, who believe that local leadership should come from those who understand the heartbeat of their county.

But too often, the people who would make the best leaders never even step forward… because the very first barrier they face isn’t political. It’s financial.

Filing fees in Texas — sometimes thousands of dollars — stop good people before their campaigns ever begin. And in rural communities, where resources are already scarce, that barrier hits even harder.

That is why The 134 PAC exists.

This is our second cycle supporting rural Democratic candidates with filing fee grants. In our first cycle, we awarded nearly $20,000 to help everyday Texans take that first, brave step toward public service. The impact was real. Those dollars turned hesitation into action. They turned dreams into campaigns. They put rural voices on the ballot who otherwise would’ve stayed silent.

And this year, we want to do even more.

We will be launching our application process on December 8. When these candidates reach out for help, we need—to be ready for them.

Not one cent goes to overhead, operations, or administration. Every dollar goes straight to the people who are ready to step up and lead.

They’re nurses, teachers, veterans, farmers, fire-fighters, ranchers, small business owners, and community advocates who know the struggles their towns face because they live them every single day.
